Divisions

Animal Control

The mission of the Animal Control Division (ACD) of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office is to protect the health and safety of the county residents, to protect animals and promote their humane treatment, and to work in partnership with animal facilities to ensure these objectives are met.

Civil Process

The Civil Division Officer acts as a court liaison, or officer of the court. The Civil Division is to perform duties for the court such as the service of civil process paperwork. This can include, but is not limited to, summons, subpoenas, restraining orders, notices, sheriff sales, evictions, and order to appear.

Courthouse Security

The Boone County Courthouse Division is responsible for the safety of elected officials, employees, and visitors to the courthouse and three other county buildings located in downtown Lebanon. Courthouse deputies investigate complaints, maintain order, screen visitors, and provide police services to the public as needed.

Enforcement

Deputies for the Boone County Sheriff’s office encounter a variety of calls from stray animals to homicides. Not only do Deputies answer calls for service and cover motor vehicle accidents, they also patrol the schools, provide funeral escorts and various other community services. Although these calls range in severity, all are treated with the same dedication and professionalism the citizens of Boone County deserve.

Reserves

The Boone County Sheriff’s office Reserve Division shall enforce the laws of the State of Indiana, safeguard life and property, prevent and detect crime, preserve the peace, protect the rights of all citizens and strive to enhance the quality of life in our community. We will uphold the public trust by being honest and maintaining the highest standards of ethical and moral character. We will treat every citizen and visitor with fairness, integrity, respect, and compassion, without discrimination of any kind.
